Completely obsessed. With this. Amazing. I’ve watched this on television and keep going back to YouTube to see it again. Choreographer and Director Michael Gracey and The Oprah Show producers managed to surprise the show’s host with this unforgettable Flash Mob performance. 21,000 people performed a choreographed dance on Michigan Avenue in Chicago as the Black Eyed Peas sang a special rendition of “I Got a Feeling” for the start of The Oprah Show’s 24th season.
According to the always informative Wikipedia, “A flash mob (or flashmob) is a large group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place, perform an unusual and pointless act for a brief time, then quickly disperse.” Michael Gracey said it was the interaction between the Black Eyes Peas and the dancers that made this flash mob so unique. "There's something really special when you take an audience and instead of just being passive and watching, you invite them to participate," he says. "That's why it was so magical for both parties. Two groups of people came together to create something that neither of them could have done alone."
Can you imagine all the time, energy, manpower, extreme level of organization, etc. that went into making this happen? OUTSTANDING. Can you imagine being a part of a collaboration like this? SO COOL. I could write more. I could talk about this all day. But really…. I just want to watch it again.
